Taste of Fall from Maine Camps
September 20, 2022, by MCE Blog Team

This week is the official end of summer as we move to fall. We are sad to see summer go, but know that with the changing season, we are getting closer to next summer! The kids are in school, football season has begun, pumpkins are a popular sight, and the leaves will soon start changing. If you have the opportunity, “leaf peeping” season in Maine wows with astounding beauty! In fact, the Camden Snow Bowl offers fall foliage chairlift rides every Sunday in October so visitors can enjoy breathtaking colors and views – visit: https://camdensnowbowl.com/2021-fall-chairlift-rides/. Some of our camps host beautiful destination weddings and serve as great venues for reunions, work group meetings, and more in the camper off-season.

Fall may also mean more time at home to try some new recipes. We know that so many of our campers enjoyed cooking as a camp activity, so what better way to spend time with your kids than making and eating some great treats from Maine. We are happy to share “The Best Recipes from Maine,” a collection of 18 recipes supplied by local Maine cooks and curated by Taste of Home. https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/the-best-recipes-from-maine/ From Herbed Mac & Cheese and Grilled Chicken Salad with Blueberry Vinaigrette to Heavenly Blueberry Tart and Blueberry Lattice Bars (lots of blueberries because it is Maine after all!). Bon Appetite. Let us know what you think!

Maine Camp Experience Resources & Tools

You can share your own Maine camps memories & expressions of gratitude on our Memories of Camp section of our website.

Looking for the perfect Maine camp for your child?  Try out our helpful tool where you can select a camp by choosing: type of camp (girls, boys or coed) and session length (1-8 weeks).  It helps to narrow down a few camps to a manageable list that includes rates.  Then you can research these camps in more depth.

Next, be sure to contact our Maine Camp Guide, Laurie to discuss these camps as well as for free, year-round advice and assistance on choosing a great Maine summer camp for your child.
